[Chiefly Musing] I think she underestimates exactly how hostile the press has become with President Bush, and accordingly underestimates how difficult that makes it for his administration to get the message out about the economy. Additionally, there’s pretty much zero chance the next storyline on the personnel changes in the administration will be positive, yet she still offers it as a possibility. I’ve noticed that she has somewhat lost touch with broader perspectives in thinking her own views are popularly held.

[Parablemania.ektopos.com] Parableman: Science Fiction Archives: Last week I said the following about people who make themselves feel superior by criticizing how some people use language but turn out actually not to understand the linguistic principles of the case and thus criticize something that's perfectly fine: Those who make fun of people who say things like this are therefore ignorant about how the English language works. It's kind of ironic that it's so easy for people to place themselves as having a superior understanding of language by making fun of people who talk about PIN numbers, when doing so is actually betraying their own ignorance of how language works.
[Motherjones.com] MoJo Blog: Among the theories behind why George Bush won re-election Tuesday is the notion that conservative social issues rallied his base, and the fact is 11 states passed anti-gay-marriage measures. But the wording of these measures means those states havent necessarily had their last word on the issue.
[Ace.mu.nu] Ace of Spades HQ: that the untold story, might in fact, be a positive one. It takes a minute to wrap my mind around it, as a news junkie that became a news writer.
[Yellingatthewindshield.blogspot.com] Yelling at the Windshield: October 2005: It was with that intra-government infighting as a backdrop that CIA official Plame suggested to her superiors that her husband, who shared her dislike of the administration and her dismay that it was edging toward an invasion of Iraq, should be dispatched to Niger and "investigate" Bush's claim in his most recent State of the Union Address regarding "yellowcake." The result of the assignment was a foregone conclusion--and in fact the 911 Commission reported that Wilson, knowing that Saddam had indeed made overtures to Niger, lied in his report and said the opposite.
[Infrared41.tripod.com] The Infrared Zone...Speaking Truth to Power: I've been finding The Daily Howler's concept of a media "script," a storyline that shapes coverage, often in the teeth of the evidence, particularly helpful in understanding cable news.
