[Accidental Deliberations] Not surprisingly, there hasn't been a lot of official material on the Saskatchewan NDP leadership race the last couple of days as the candidates wait to find out just how many members they'll be looking to win over.

[Head Tale - Yet Another Librarian's Blog] Head Tale - Yet Another Librarian's Blog :: More on Donations to ...: The blog of a former library school student in the MLIS program at the University of Western Ontario, currently working in Saskatchewan. Just as a follow-up to my post about the list of donors who've given more than $250 to each of the four NDP leadership candidates, I'd like to point out that The Accidental Jurist has done some investigative journalism (at least someone is - thanks for nothing MSM!)
[New Democrats Online - Néo-Démocrats Branchés] Leadership 2009 - Week in Review, March 15: And that includes front-runner Dwain Lingenfelter - who certainly doesn't seem to lack for supporters eager to support his candidacy on posts here and elsewhere, but doesn't seem to have inspired a single original post outside the main Saskatchewan politics blogs since the race began.
[Powered by Mambo 4.5.3] ActUpInSask.org - Saskatchewan's Online Activist Network: Lingenfelter pointed out that all CCF-NDP governments, beginning with Tommy Douglas, were strong supporters of uranium mining and the processing of uranium in the province, and this is still party policy. He said he was not taking a position on the need for a nuclear power reactor, arguing that this had to be carefully weighted with all the alternatives.
[Head Tale - Yet Another Librarian's Blog] Head Tale - Yet Another Librarian's Blog :: Armchair ...: Since he's not the front runner, Meili's strategy is likely one of trying to keep Link from running away with things, keep raising awareness and momentum over the next month and a half with a goal of a strong second place finish after the first ballot then hoping that the majority of other members who supported either Pedersen (quite likely) or Higgins (not as likely since, as the Jurist points out, some Higgins support will go to Link) will break for him rather than Lingenfelter.

She also held a position in communications for the Jean Charest leadership campaign for the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada.
Lake Ontario Waterkeeper: In this regards the UDP sounds very similar to a report issued by Albertas Canada West Foundation.[48] Its sort of a chicken-and-egg strategy, for the UDP says “If a nuclear power generation facility is built, Saskatchewan would also require that existing academic nuclear engineering and physics programs be expanded”¦” So you might just as well have an “academic centre of excellence”. And while you are at it, you might as well throw in a research reactor which could “serve as a catalyst for these activities.” Then, if youre going to have an expensive research reactor you might as well use this to “produce medical isotopes to address the anticipated global deficit in isotope supply.” Hence R # 20 is to “Pursue medical isotope production as part of the reactors mandate.” Therell obviously be no complaining from the University of Saskatchewan administrators who have helped facilitate and legitimize the UDP.
[Technology in Government] A Fixed Election Date: A Change thats Working?: The Conservatives had their campaign site up-and-running in July, so havent needed to change much, but have played downthe previous theme of, “I Want a Better Ontario,” and put their emphasis on “leadership matters.” .
[Blue Like You] Blue Like You » Blog Archive » Does Iggy agree with Senator Baker ...: In fact if given a choice, I would be much more comfortable with Dion on the Unity file than Ignatieff, who has no previous record, and resided on foreign soil when Canadians rallied and fought to keep the country united, and Ignatieff’s only measurable contribution to Canadian unity was his willingness to become a partner with the Bloc in the government of Canada, leaving the option of the coalition on the table, and now to allow a respected Liberal ( respected by Liberals) George Baker float not only promote Nfl separation, but even vote against the budget.
[small dead animals] small dead animals: Jack Layton: Party Leader Jack Layton, who has come out publicly in favour of a withdrawal from Afghanistan, wouldn't comment on the matter. But his office emphasized that it was unlikely the resolution - among more than 600 being put forward by riding associations - would even make it to the convention floor for debate.
