Innovation and Branding

http://brandxpress.blogspot.com [brandXpress Blog - Articles and opinions on branding] Most innovative companies have specific initiatives in place to capture creative concepts and promote innovation. They realize that innovation is less about nurturing solitary genius than about encouraging a whole culture of innovation, so that new ideas are constantly surfacing and being tested, while older ideas are kept alive to be adapted to new circumstances.

Simpson on Kennedy

[CIVITATENSIS] Simpson was not terribly impressed. He concludes that the leadership hopeful is lacking in substance –and he is not terribly hot on Ken Dryden either, though he called ‘thoughtful.’

Your Thursday Noonan

[Chiefly Musing] I think she underestimates exactly how hostile the press has become with President Bush, and accordingly underestimates how difficult that makes it for his administration to get the message out about the economy.  Additionally, there’s pretty much zero chance the next storyline on the personnel changes in the administration will be positive, yet she still offers it as a possibility.  I’ve noticed that she has somewhat lost touch with broader perspectives in thinking her own views are popularly held.

Liberal leadership web roundup #1.3: Kennedy, Bevilacqua no longer MIA

http://www.robcottingham.ca [Rob Cottingham] Blogging Gerard Kennedy and Maurizio Bevilacqua are, I’m happy to report, among the living. Bevilacqua was hanging out at the apparently un-Google-able maurizio.ca, and Kennedy’s site went live, as far as I can tell, today.

Response to Great Intimidators

[Get Me Jamie Notter] I was happy to see a letter to the editor in this month’s Harvard Business Review that challenged the “Great Intimidator” article that I wrote about last month. Walter Carleton gave voice to my frustration with the article, pointing out that citing Richard Nixon, Robert McNamara and Carly Fiorina as “model” leaders is certainly questionable. He also made the same point I did by flat-out challenging the notion that the truth is not that important:

Mornin’ Cup: Grande, Decaf, Mocha Interview with Whipped Cream

[ B. Scott Burkett’s Pothole on the Infobahn] Having interviewed hundreds of fresh college graduates over the years, I have learned to hire primarily based on performance potential, and not solely on their experience or interviewing prowess. [Squint (a Lightpierce Communication Channel)] Interestingly, their keys to success and / or the services they offered centered around one main principle ”” getting real ”” as seen through different perspectives. From Peter Jones: “10 Golden Rules for Ultrapreneural Brilliance” (NOTE: This is a flash site, click the “My Mindset” tab to access this specific link) From Doug Hall: “Now you know the real secret to my success” From Mary Lou Quinlan (Just Ask a Woman) Power Listening Tools Sadly, I didn’t find anything meaningful or specifically about Ed Evangelista.

Nuclear Iran

http://crazypolitics.blogspot.com [Crazy Politico's Rantings] Anyone with military planning experience, even on a fairly small level understands the "fishbone diagram" method of planning.
